Saves and updates

Each career is a single save file with its own backups. The game saves it for you as you play.

Autosave#

The open career writes its save every few in-game days. Settings → Gameplay → Autosave every sets how often.

Load Career#

Main menu → Load Career lists every career you have started, with its player, date, ranking and titles, and the data packs it uses. From a career’s card you can:

  • load it;
  • restore one of its backups;
  • see its update history;
  • export it to a file, to keep a copy or share it;
  • delete it.

Import a career adds a career someone exported to your list.

Steam Cloud#

On Steam, your saves and settings go to Steam Cloud, so they follow you to another computer.

When the game updates#

A career keeps a copy of the game’s data from when it started, so an update does not suddenly change a season you are halfway through. When an update has something for careers under way, such as new players, loading the career says Update available, lists what is new, and offers to update it.

  • An update adds what is new without changing what has already happened: your rankings, your money and your results stay as they are.
  • A backup is kept before the career is updated.
  • The same goes for a data pack the career uses, when the pack brings out a new version.

Data packs and saves#

A career remembers which data packs it started with. If you delete a pack that careers use, the game warns you and names the careers first. Data packs and mods.
